MR. STEVE WILLE

How lucky we are to have one of our own classmates, Steve Wille, on the faculty of Wilson.  He helped us so much with our 40th reunion in 2003, and came through again in 2008.

Not only was he instrumental in helping to establish the Legacy Award, but he was a point of contact for those who worked on the picnic--helping to arrange early entrance to the campus, assisting in planning for tables, chairs, easels, etc.

Steve worked closely with the awesome Wilson Activities Director, Erin Fekjar, to arrange for the pepsters' performance, the tour of the school, and on and on and on.

A big Bruin Thanks to both Steve and Erin!

BARBARA DUSKI FERNANDEZ

Early on in the year leading up to the reunion, Barbara Duski Fernandez accepted the responsibility for coordinating the picnic with both the school and her fellow volunteers.  Their hard work paid off--they made it look easy.

Barbara says:  "Many thanks to Lee Faries Ostendorf for supplying the needed tables and chairs, and for all who pitched in and helped - Donna Combs Dominguez, Gary Reid, Robin and David Sprang, Nick Sherbin and, of course, Steve Wille.

The picnic offered the opportunity to see some classmates we had not seen for 45 years. The tour brought back so many memories. We had lockers ... now a thing of the past.

Looking back, we see how fortunate we were to have lived our school years during the best of times."   Barbara Duski Fernandez

PICNIC HELPER! DONNA COMBS DOMINGUEZ

"The weather was really nice. Our crew of volunteers had a lot of setting up to do, but we pitched in and everything turned out well. I was particularly glad to see such a good turnout of people ... for some, it was the only event they attended. For others, it was a great warmup for Saturday night.

We sure appreciated those who stuck around for the cleanup - as we all were pretty
tired and wanting to save our energy for the evening to come! " --Donna Combs Dominguez
