I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush,
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry; I am not there.
I did not die.

THANK YOU TO VALERIE SABIN GARRETT
FOR SHARING THIS POEM

For Friends

Our lives go on through darkened streets
Our shadowy ships pass in the night.
But friendship’s love may show the way
And bless us with its glorious light.

How soon the carefree days are past!
Though Time, with noiseless wings, flies on,
The best shall last of all we knew
And loved; and never will be gone.

The heart remembers what is good!
For these, our memories hold true:
For simple, quiet times we shared
And many a loving thought of you.
