WHAT WERE
THEY THINKING ??? (CRASH
DUMMIES' EXCELLENT ADVENTURE)
While gearing up for the big reunion weekend, Mike
Morrissey did some reminiscing with his buddies. He wrote:
"In
1966, the patch of land that is now the Spinnaker Bay development (on the north shore of Marine Stadium) looked a little different.
It was a large expanse of what amounted to a salt flat, and was a perfect venue for guys like us to do crazy things with cars
and motorcycles. It saw a lot of service. Craig Vestermark, Dave Downing, and I somehow concocted the idea of tying
an old tire to the back of my van with a long rope, and dragging each other around the salt flat at fairly high speeds.
Somehow, no injuries were sustained. We got a little dirty, however."

Craig took most of the pictures but he, too, got
his turn being dragged by Mike.

SOME GOLDEN GIRLS Thanks to Dennie Hamilton King for submitting this picture of a little Christmas get-together at
her house. These '63 classmates have been friends forever and have just as much fun now as ever. L
to R - Jeri Hemphill Livingstone, Nancy Castle, Mary Hinrichs Van Holt, Judy Wilson Jones, Dennie, Linda Morrison Castle,
and Mary Jane Barden Pierce. We've got to keep meeting like this!
It's so good to hear from Susie Arnold Canepa:
Our family photo was taken on Thanksgiving, 2010. We traditionally
take a walk on the beach while the turkey is cooking, and this photo was taken near Platforms Beach in Rio del Mar. We
live in Rio del Mar, which is a tiny town south of Santa Cruz. Our postmark is actually Aptos, California. The
beach is a long one and at a certain point, dog owners take their dogs off leash. From left: Linda, my son's girlfriend,
son DeWitt, daughter Adriana, daughter Jennifer, yours truly, and husband Peter. Loyal Terrier Lolly (rear view) in foreground.

A Long Road Back
Some of you may remember that in December, 2004, Jill
Nobles Thrasher's daughter Janna was in a horrible car accident in California. She was rescued by Jaws of Life and suffered
a brain stem injury, resulting in a long coma and devastating injuries. Many friends of Jill's offered encouragement
and prayer during that difficult time. So it is a pleasure to share
this recent picture of Janna, less than two years later. She continues to work very hard on her
rehabilitation.
You go, Girl! You too, Mom & family.

Paul Nelson sent this picture of himself with his wife, Gale,
on a trip to Skagway, Alaska in June 2005.
Here's a happy update to the story (upper left ) of Jill's
daughter Janna, and her recovery from devastating injuries of a few years back. Jill sent this picture of herself and
her two daughters, taken on a Mother's Day trip to Chicago (which Jill confirms really is windy.) They were in
an eatery on the famous Navy Pier on Lake Michigan. Left to right, Janna, Jaymie, and Jill.
What a neat Mother's Day gift.
